Hanna's Candle Woodland Christmas 2019 Wax Melts Reviews (Candlemart)

September 13, 2019

This is a review of Hanna's Candle Woodland Christmas 2019 Wax Melts (Candlemart). They are triple color melts, but not triple scented (all 3 colors in the pack are the same scent).

Crystal Creme
Notes: Vanilla cream, Madagascar vanilla bean, spun sugar
Sweet vanilla buttercream

Dusted Pine
Notes: Magestic pine, balsam fir, mistletoe, cassis, cedarwood, sweet musk
A fantastic, slightly smoky pine/spruce scent. It's not a harsh, biting pine scent. I'm sure it's a dupe of another Hanna's pine scent, but I don't know which one, as the scent notes are not the same as any of them.

Falling Snow
Notes: Eucalyptus, juniper berry, cedarwood, fresh sage
Fantastic scent! It's mint with a slight pine note. It's not a sweet mint, and has some spearmint notes that give it a tiny bit of a toothpaste quality which I normally don't like, but the pine note saves it. I love this scent, and has a "chilly" quality! It's the same as both Ashland Glistening Snow and the green scent from Shimmering Noel Trio, both from Michaels from November 2016.

Forest Retreat
Notes: Golden amber, clove bud, cinnamon stick, smoky heartwood, patchouli, oakmoss, vanilla
This is the same scent as Ember Glow, but I thought it was a "lighter", less intense version. However, Hanna's Candle confirmed that it is indeed the same scent, even though the Ember Glow scent notes are different (spiced wood, juniper, cinnamon, patchouli and vanilla). It's a raw wood scent like pencil shavings, with an intense oud wood note (although the oud note seems more subtle in this scent than in Ember Glow), and maybe a smidgen of leather and sweet vanilla. It's manly, but not a cologne scent. Looking at the notes, I don't detect cinnamon or cloves at all. Amber? Not really, although there is a tiny bit of warmth. Patchouli and smoky heartwood, probably. It's one of my favorite scents, and a lot of people love this one.

Holiday Spice
Notes: Spiced orange, apple slices, and poached pears sprinkled with warm spices of nutmeg, clove buds, and cinnamon sugar swirled through with vanilla, Tonka bean and musk
Sweet cinnamon and cloves. It's not a harsh, Big Red or red hot cinnamon candies type cinnamon. I'm sure it's a dupe of another Hanna's cinnamon scent, but I don't know which one, as the scent notes are not the same as any of them.

Winter Bliss
Notes: Silver pine, sparkling white grapefruit, bergamot, mandarine, white jasmine, French lavender, sandalwood
This is a soapy, slightly sweet, predominantly lavender scent with a hint of light wood (sandalwood?) and a smidgen of pine. It could be perfumey if it were sweeter. It's a very pleasant scent, and I really like it. Looking at the notes, I don't smell any citrus, but I do detect a hint of floral.
