This is a review of AmbiEscents Butter Rum Mocha and Farmhouse Balsam from Christmas 2019. None of the holiday scents are new; even the two "new" scents are dupes of ScentSationals scents. Scents that have returned from previous years and 2018 are Pine Wreath, Candy Cane Crush, Sugar Pine, Santa's Sugar Cookies
Butter Rum Mocha
Buttered toffee, vanilla creme, a hint of rum, and marshmallow fluff
This is a dupe of a ScentSationals scent from Meijer by the same name. It's a fantastic rich sweet buttery toffee scent with a strong salty caramel note. It's not mocha, which is coffee and chocolate, and I don't detect chocolate at all, but I think it does have a hint of coffee. I think there's also a tiny bit of rum way in the background. Looking at the notes, they're spot on.
Balsam fir, cypress, citrus-splashed sage, ambered birch, and winter holly with wild thyme
This is a biting pine scent with a nasal-clearing eucalyptus note. It's not a smoky spruce type scent. I've smelled it before, so I know it's a dupe of another pine scent. It's not ScentSationals Perfectly Pine, and although it's very similar to AmbiEscents Sugar Pine, it's not the same scent (this scent has a strong eucalyptus note). It might be the same as Better Homes & Gardens Aspen Evergreen Walk, but I no longer have that scent to compare. Interestingly, the notes are very similar to Sonoma Tree Farm from Kohl's from 2016 (Aspen cedar, frosted Fraser and Italian cypress enhanced with citrus-splashed sage, birchwood, a touch of crisp winter holly and wild thyme), even it's a different company. This scent is kind of "meh" for me.
