This is a review of ScentSationals Fusion Wax Melts from Meijer (2017). ScentSationals has a line of wax melts called "Fusion", which are supposed to be "mixable fragrances". They don't seem any different to me than their regular scents, since all wax melt scents can be mixed. These new Spring 2017 Fusion scents are only available in certain stores across the country, such as Meijer. They are not available at Walmart, but some may be available on the ScentSationals website.
Clarity (Sage Leaf & Clove)
This smells a lot like the new ScentSationals Apple Wood (and AmbiEscents Apple & Oud - same scent), but it's not the same scent. They both have a tobacco note with a slightly foodie quality. But Apple Wood has a smidgen of apple and men's cologne (and is very slightly sweet), while Clarity does not. Clarity has a slightly more herbal note. It's like tobacco with a smidgen of sage. I don't smell clove though. It's a very "different" scent, and I'm not sure if I like it. Melted, it smells a little bit like barbecued meat, but not really in a bad way.
Dream Big (Lavender & Thyme)
Experience the natural appeal of fresh lavender balanced with crisp elements of aromatic thyme, balsamic fir needle, and dew-covered herbs.
This is an authentic lavender scent, like the lavender plant itself. It's not very sweet, and it's a little medicinal but not too much so, more like an herbal lavender. When melted it's a very nice fresh almost soapy lavender scent that doesn't need any sweetness.
Happy Day (Lemon)
Alluring notes of brilliant lemon verbena swirl with the richness of sweet cane sugar wrapped in creamy swirls of scrumptious vanilla.
This is almost the exact same scent as ScentSationals Happy Home, with a very subtle difference. This scent is slightly more lemony (with a very slight "kitchen lemon" note), and slightly less of a bakery note. I still detect a warm vanilla cookie note, but it's not as pronounced, and I don't detect the sweet rich buttercream. And that makes sense, because the notes are different as well (Happy Home notes are: A zesty splash of candied orange and sparkling lemon lime warmed with vanilla cookies baked with sweet sugar crystals and buttercream.) But if you compare ScentSationals Happy Home and this Happy Day Fusion side by side, you might not be able to tell the difference.
Healing Spells (Eucalyptus & Herbs)
This is the same scent as the new AmbiEscents Eucalyptus & Herbs. It's a pure menthol eucalyptus scent that smells a lot like Vicks Vaporub, but not as pungent. There may also be some pure mint in the background, but this is not a sweet scent at all. I don't detect a herbal scent, although the mint might be the herbs. This one has a strong sinus clearing effect from close up, although not really from far away. It's great for melting when you have a cold or allergies due to its sinus clearing effect, although it would be best to put the warmer close to the bed or couch to get the maximum effect.
Invigorate Me (Lemongrass & Peppermint)
This is the same scent as the new AmbiEscents Lemongrass & Peppermint, which I LOVE. It's a fantastic soapy lemongrass scent with a mint note, a relaxing spa scent, and the mint is subtle. It's not a sweet peppermint, nor is it spearmint (no "toothpaste" notes), but more of a fresh "natural" mint.
Sweet Dreams (Sweet Jasmine)
This name for this scent is a total misnomer. There is no jasmine or even floral in this scent, and it's not sweet at all. I can't even figure out what it smells like, maybe a bitter soapy scent? Melted, it definitely smells like soap, like an intense natural soap, not citronella but that type of intensity. I don't care for it. It's the same scent as AmbiEscents Relax & Unwind.
