ScentSationals Wax Melt Reviews from HEB in Texas (2019)

This is a review of ScentSationals Wax Melts from H-E-B in Texas from Spring/Summer 2019. They may be available at some other stores in Texas (but not outside of Texas).

Conchas
Conchas is Mexican Sweet Bread. I've never tried it, so I don't know if this scent is authentic. This smells like warm vanilla sugar cookies with a smidgen of chocolate and perhaps a very barely detectable hint of cinnamon way in the background. It's not a pure vanilla scent, nor a cupcake or yellow cake scent (which would have a hint of coconut). And although it's sweet, it's not as sweet as other cookie type scents. Conchas recipes do call for cinnamon and vanilla, but no chocolate. I'm pleasantly surprised at the strong throw, which is not common for vanilla and cookie type scents.

This scent is similar to ScentSationals Cake Batter Ice Cream (which I think is a dupe for an older ScentSationals scent called Chocolate Chip Cookie), but Cake Batter Ice Cream is much sweeter and richer, with more of a chocolate note. I like this scent because it's not cloyingly sweet, which makes it smell more like real cookies. And the scent lasted all day, at least 10 hours.

Hill Country
This is not the same scent as last year's Hill Country Cedar. I'm not a fan of straight cinnamon, but this is a sweet powdery cinnamon with a tiny bit of a cedar note, so I really like it. It has a bit of a candy note but it's not a harsh Big Red chewing gum type cinnamon. Actually, it might be a dupe of an older ScentSationals scent from Meijer called Twilight Mist & Dreams. It's a fantastic cinnamon scent.

Lake Travis Oasis
I've smelled this scent before. It's pineapple, and I don't think I detect any coconut which is often added to pineapple scents. It's sweet, but not as sweet as most pineapple scents, and it's not a creamy pineapple tropical drink scent. So it actually smells like authentic pineapple. It's a little harsh, like it might have a smidgen of slightly bitter grapefruit. I'm not a fan of this scent, but if you like pineapple, you'll probably love this one.

Rustic Ranch
This is patchouli with rich, sweet caramel and vanilla, a hint of cedar, and possibly a barely detectable smidgen of leather. It's an absolutely incredible scent! It's not the same scent as the old ScentSationals Santa's Workshop or Grandpa's Workshop scents. I like it slightly less when melted, because it took on an odd "old" patchouli note, and I also don't smell the leather when melted (if it was even there at all). But it's still a nice, unique scent.
