ScentSationals Essential Oils Aromatherapy Wax Melts Reviews

This is review of ScentSationals Essential Oils Aromatherapy Wax Melts from Meijer from 2019. These scents are not available at Walmart or on the ScentSationals website, although many are dupes of other ScentSationals and Better Homes & Gardens scents.

Alert
Grapefruit & Lemon
This is a bland soapy herbal grapefruit scent. It's not zesty or even very citrusy, and it's not sweet at all, a little more savory. I know I've smelled it before. I like it; it's unusual.

Balance
Clary Sage & Lime
This doesn't smell at all like sage or lime. It's a slightly sweet, slightly herbal, slightly incensey scent, with maybe a smidgen of a baby powder note (some aromatic spices smell like that), and a tiny bit of a metallic note. It's an interesting scent, but I really can't figure out the notes. It might be the same as last year's Cedarwood & Sea Salt, as I described it the same way.

Breathe
Peppermint & Spearmint
A nice sweet candy cane type peppermint scent with maybe a hint of spearmint. It has a strong sinus clearing effect, even from a few feet away, so it's a nice scent to melt if you have a cold. This is the same scent as last year's Spearmint & Peppermint scent, as I described it the same way.

Energy
Orange & Vanilla
This is not an orange and vanilla scent, which I think would be more of an orange creamsicle scent. This smells like grapefruit with maybe a smidgen of lemon that gives it a little bit of zestiness. It smells a lot like ScentSationals Hello Sunshine, but I think this scent is slightly more zesty. I love it!

Focus
Lemon & Ginger
A nice clean lemon scent with the same bland soapy herbal note as the Alert scent. Like the Alert scent, it's not zesty or citrusy. It's not a foodie, lemonade lemon. Nor is it lemongrass, as that tends to have a bit of a citronella note that this scent does not have. And it's not a dish detergent lemon, as it's only a tiny bit sweet. It's just a pleasant, clean, herbal lemon scent (but not the same as Better Homes & Gardens Meyer Lemon Basil. It smells like Better Homes & Gardens Aromatherapy Vetiver & Lemon but without the sweetness. I really like it!

Invigorate
Eucalyptus & Spearmint
This is not a eucalyptus or mint scent at all. It's grapefruit and orange with a little bit of lemon, and smell almost exactly like the Energy scent. It's not sweet at all. I really like it. It might be the same scent as ScentSationals Hello Sunshine.

Memory
Sage & Bergamot
A rich, soapy, fresh herbal scent with a hint of a cologney note (although it's not a cologne scent, and not sweet enough to be a body wash scent). It has a barely noticeable smidgen of a savory note, which might be the sage. It's a very nice, pleasant scent.

Mood
Jasmine & Citronella
I really smell the citronella, as well as a slightly sweet, slightly floral note that I suppose is the jasmine, although it doesn't smell like jasmine per se. It's like 80% citronella, 10% bland industrial or plain ivory soap, and 10% floral. I really wanted to like this because it's so unusual, but I can't take the bitter citronella note. This is the same scent as AmbiEscents Relax & Unwind (Sweet Jasmine) and ScentSationals Sweet Dreams Fusion.

Peace
Cinnamon & Nutmeg
This smells like a combination of straight cinnamon and a sweet cinnamon roll, with maybe a smidgen of ginger. It's the same as last year's Nutmeg & Cinnamon. I can tell that this scent is indeed made with essential oils, because when I put my nose a few inches from the melted wax, it burned my nostrils a little!

Purity
Wintergreen & Tea Time
I've smelled this scent before, and the only way I can describe it is it smells like a zesty, savory salad! It's kind of yummy, but I'm not sure it's something I want my house to smell like. It has zero wintergreen or tea notes. This is the same scent as last year's Tea Tree & Wintergreen.

Relax
Lavender & Chamomile
A fantastic combination of lemon verbena and lavender. It's not a sweet powdery lavender, nor is it a eucalyptus type medicinal lavender, but more of a spa lavender. The lemon note isn't lemongrass, as that tends to have a bit of a citronella note that this scent doesn't have. I'm pretty sure it's lemon verbena, which is more of an herbal lemon. It's pretty much an equal combination of the lavender and the lemon. It's the same as last year's Lavender & Chamomile.

Restore
Basil & Cedarwood
This scent has no basil notes at all, although it could have a smidgen of cedar. It's a nice fresh men's cologne or body wash scent. It's not harsh, overly sweet or overly cologney, and has a little bit of a soapy note. I've smelled it before, and I really like it. Oh, it's the same as ScentSationals Cactus Garden.

Uplift
Orange & Lemon
There is zero orange or lemon or citrus in this scent. It smells like real flower petals, I think, but there's another note I can't figure out that makes this scent really unusual. Maybe an exotic aromatic spice, or a hint of a slightly salty oceany water note, or a smidgen of vanilla? I'm probably way off, because I can't figure out the actual notes in this scent. It also has a smidgen of that metallic note that the Balance scent has, but it's barely detectable. Although it smells like flower petals, it's not perfumey or even very flowery. I like it.
