ScentSationals Texas Edition H.E.B. Wax Melts Reviews

This is a review of the new ScentSationals H-E-B Texas Special Editions wax melts as of July 2020. These are only available at H-E-B stores in Texas, but many of them are dupes of other ScentSationals scents that can be found elsewhere.

Berry Cobbler
Melt in your mouth flakey all buttery pastry baked to perfection with sweet ripened blueberries. Enjoy a la mode!
I haven't smelled this scent in years, and I'm so glad it came back. It's the same scent as Oak & Rye Berry Crunch Muffins, Day of the Dead Empanada de Fresa (Strawberry Empanada), the very old (2013?) ScentSationals Berry Crumble (not Apple Berry Crumble, which is a different scent), ScentSationals Blueberry Flapjacks, and AmbiEscents Blueberry Muffin. It also smells exactly like Goose Creek Candle Wild Berry & Waffles (a totally different brand). It's a super rich, super buttery blueberry bakery scent, like blueberry muffins with a ton of blueberries. It's not totally authentic, but it's much better than most blueberry bakery scents I've smelled. I'm not a fan of a lot of bakery scents, but this one is incredible!

Cloudburst
A burst of lively greens and shimmering citrus nestles with white pine and green cypress wrapped with forest herbs and mosses, soft woods and musk
I love this scent! It's fresh and watery, very sweet, with a soapy note, a hint of men's cologne (although it's not a cologne scent, but possibly a men's body wash scent although it's a bit too sweet, but it's also not feminine, floral or perfumey), and maybe a barely detectable smidgen of lemon. It's different from other scents that have the same description though. Melted, I smell a tad more of the lemon (although it's not a lemony scent at all), and it's not quite as sweet as it is on cold sniff. Looking at the notes, there's the citrus, but I don't detect pine at all.

Dripping Springs
Sparking ozone and sea salt drift over floral jasmine, cyclamen, and tender lily touched with hints of tropical peach and warm, musk-infused woods
This is the same scent as ScentSationals Ocean Tides and AmbiEscents Maui Beach (both from 2018), and AmbiEscents Ocean Waves from Spring 2019, as well as ScentSational Sea Foam from Meijer. These are all dupes of the old ScentSationals Calypso Sands (which says "light floral and honeydew" on the label). It's a fantastic sweet watery scent with honeydew, floral, vanilla, and a hint of coconut, and it's one of my favorite scents!

Magnolia Gardens
Light and refreshing, Cherry Blossom reminisces of fresh spring air. Fused with top notes of Asian pear, rose, mimosa petals and Fuji apples while leading to a floral heart of seductive jasmine and peony brightened by Tahitian lemongrass and perfectly finish with smooth musk.
This is the same as ScentSationals Magnolia from spring 2019 (the notes for that scent are basically the same but worded differently: "A bouquet of rose, jasmine, and cherry blossom are settled into the heart of the fragrance. The base is comprised of lush leafy greens with soft undertones of apple peel brightened by lemongrass and grounded by crisp musk"). It's an authentic floral scent with a soapy powdery rose note and a smidgen of lemon (which is often present in magnolia scents). It's sweet but not perfumey. Fantastic scent!

Rain Lily
A blend of amber sweet mandarin, juicy orange, cassis, wild flower honey and macadamia rose. A sensual base of cedar, sandalwood and musk adds a rich depth.
This is an odd scent. On cold sniff it's sweet and powdery, but it also has a sour note with a hint of lemon. It's like I'm smelling two different scents at the same time, instead of just a scent that's both sweet and sour. But when melted, I just smell the sour note, like a very sour tropical fruit. I think it's the same as ScentSationals Tropical Fuse from 2016. And looking at the scent notes, yes, it is indeed the same scent!

Texas Summer
Pineapple, verbena and coconut sparkle with ozone freshness, lemon, grapefruit and bergamot
This is the same scent as ScentSationals Pacific Coast Highway. It's a sweet candy-like pineapple, strawberry and maybe a little orange, along with maybe a smidgen of coconut and fresh air note. It's a great scent!

Western Cactus
Sparkling fresh notes of green citrus blended with lush aloe and earthy accords. Wrapped in airy ozones and white woods.
This is a dupe of a scent that I bought around 2014 and no longer have, but I loved it. I think it was ScentSationals Patagonia Orchid. It smells like a cross between sweet pea and jasmine, with a soapy note and a smidgen of a green grass note. It's one of my favorite scents of all time and I'm so glad it came back. The notes (and scent name) are quite similar to ScentSationals Cactus Garden ("Sparkling fresh top notes of misted citrus blended with a lush, herbal, fruity aloe accord wrapped in a warm body of wood with amber and spice") but it's a totally different scent with no similarities whatsoever. So I think these notes are incorrect, because this is definitely a sweet, floral scent.
